RIDE SHARE PROGRAM
The Exec. Board would like to make getting to the evening meetings more convenient for members who do not like to drive at night. We are starting a Ride Share Program where we match drivers and passengers who live in close proximity to one another. If you would like to be a driver or passenger, please complete the 3 question survey below to participate. Please include your address and phone number in the survey. 2026 Plant Sale Update
Please post information about our benefit plant sale to your social media accounts like Facebook.
You can use the image below and also link it to our website www.bcahortsociety.org.
Also, remember to prepare any plants you would like to donate to the sale as soon as possible. It is important to use good potting mix and allow enough time for them to overcome any transplant shock.
Label the pots but do not put prices.
Perennials can be dropped off at the Lower Carriage House on the left side as you approach the garage doors. Houseplants and tropicals may be dropped off when the weather warms in May.
Donated magazines and books related to gardening can be brought to general meetings.
We have already put in a major order with one of our suppliers! For your part, please collect gardening-related magazines and books that you no longer want so we can make them available for people to take for free. Do not bring in old black and white books!
Also, as soon as you see plants coming up that you want to divide and donate to the sale, please get out your shovel. Plants must be potted for at least several weeks to recover from transplant shock. The earlier you pot them, the better. With that said, only use quality potting mix, not garden soil. Invasive plants will not be accepted. Plants that are from your garden may be stored outside the LCH on the left when you come down the drive. House plants and tropicals can be brought to the LCH in a couple months after the weather warms.
The plant sale is not only a major fundraiser, but it is an educational event for the public so we must put our best feet forward!
